Make sure that there is an arrow up icon next to the skill?s name, then your experience will go two parts, one is for your character level up, the other is for skill level up. If it is a dash instead, you will not gain experience for that skill. So you make the decision which to choose. More about skills: click here.

Easy way: You can put mouse on the other Characters and click the left button and the "Alt" on the keyboard at the same time to add or invite other people, trade or see their equipments.
